I usually play Jazz with many different players. It is so fun to play music together without any rehearsal. We listen to each other and get along together musically. I think that is one of the beauties of playing Jazz.
However, I enjoy playing in a regular band or orchestra. Last night, on August 1st, I played with a Japanese pop-acoustic band, Robin’s Egg Blue. Atsumi, a vocalist and Masashi, guitarist usually compose the songs and we rehearse. We play the same repertoire many times, but each time we play, we grow and it sounds better. It is out of control in a good way, as it has its own live. I really enjoy plying in this band.
