Japanese Interview

Hello.
It is hard to keep posting something new.
There are too many things going on, and hard to decide what to write.

Anyway, I have two things to write now.
One, I want to inform that I will be the host for Nippon Jazz Sunday night at Blue Owl, starting next year. There are two sets each night, and different artists will be performing. I am planning to play the first set, and planning to have a different musicians for the second set. As it says, nippon Jazz, we will feature Japanese artists. But it won’t be only Jazz. I will try to have many different styles if it is possible.
Please advice me if you have good ideas.

Second, I was interviewed by one Japanese web article.
It is in Japanese, but I hope you enjoy reading it.

Busy month

Once in a while, I become really busy performing without my intention. This month is quite busy, somehow. I am playing every weekends in September. It is a very lucky thing and I really appreciate that.

This Sunday, 19th, I will be playing for O’Crepes, an organic crepe cafe in Dumbo, Brooklyn. I met the owner through my gig at Tonda. She comes to my gig often and became friends, so this time I would like to show my appreciation to her and play for her place. Actually, even without that, I would recommend this crepe cafe since it taste really good. Crepe is one of my favorite food. Please check my Flyer page to see more info. Or check out Facebook Event.

Relaxed

I just played with Nabuko Kiryu-san(vocal) and Takeshi Ogura -san(guitar) at Tonda. Many people came and listened to us. Nabuko-san creates nice and relax mood, yet still exciting musically. I feel good playing with this relaxed feel. It is not about the technique, it is about the feel. We did’t play loud, we didn’t force to play good, but audience listen to it. It was just like conversations. It was fun.

Next week, Paul Meyer will be playing. He is our teacher-level musician. I am sure it will be great and I am really looking forward to playing with him.
Aug. 31st 8-10pm.

many projects

Somehow, this month is getting busier that usual, which is good. I just played at Cleopatra needle tonight. It was a quartet lead by Ken Simon. It is so fun to play for other people as an supporter, since I can concentrate on just playing. Leading a band is also fun, but responsibilities come with it.

Next week, I will have a guitar gig with a singer, Sanae Kojima. It has been a while since I performed on guitar, so I am little bit worried about it, but it should be fun too!!

Beside performances, I am also working on my film project. Here is the video that I involved. Please click below.
The music are all mine. I hope you like it.
